The Elder Rights Project is a statewide expansion of a small project that started in Milwaukee and Waukesha Counties. Legal Action of Wisconsin and Wisconsin Judicare are partnering on this statewide project. Financial crimes are one of the fastest growing crimes in the country, and elders are, unfortunately, a frequent target of financial exploitation and other crimes.
The Elder Rights Project provides free legal assistance to secure safety, stability, and independence for elder abuse victims (60 or over), including for housing. On this call, learn more about how the Elder Rights project can help to obtain restraining orders, revoke abusive powers of attorney, recover stolen money and property, get public benefits, stop abuse (financial, emotional, physical), evict abusers, help with identity theft issues that can impact housing, and solve other civil legal problems related to the victimization.
